Fallout 3

Published by Bethesda Softworks, Fallout 3 is a role-playing post-apocalyptic action game released in the US in October 2008. The year is 2277, some 200 years after the Great War. Although the war only lasted a couple of hours, the nuclear devastation caused worldwide destruction.

Your character lives with other survivors of the Great War in Vault 101, a fallout shelter. Vault 101 is sealed shut to the outside world until your father mysteriously opens the vault door and escapes - without any reasoning or explanation. You must also leave the vault, not only to find your father but to escape the Vault Overseer who believes you helped your father escape to the outside world.

Once placing foot on what was the Nation's Capital, the devastation of what once was Washington DC is apparent. The ruins of the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial are surrounded by desolation. This once thriving and overrun place has turned into a wasteland - you need to fight to stay alive until you can find your father.
